SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Both Fresno Pacific cross country teams competed at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational to close out the regular season, in which several Sunbirds had incredible performances.
On the men's side,
Monte Moore finished off his season strong with a season's best 26:23 in the men's 8K race, capturing a 47th place finish. He was the sole Sunbird to make the Top 50 finishers. Following close behind was the pair,
Daniel Galvez and
Sawyer Pugliese, who both finished with a time of 26.47, earning the 68th and 69th spot.
Isaac Medina was the last to finish in the Sunbird pack, coming in nearly twenty seconds later to secure 83rd place (27:03).
On the ladies side,
Julissa Avila led the 'Birds with a 14th place finish, coming in at exactly 23:00. Coming in a minute later,
Avery Gibson broke past the finish line, earning 36th place.
Jaslin Arana beat her personal best by a full minute and 30 seconds in the 6K, finishing in 37th with a time of 24:02.
Ariana Womack (24:28) and
Gianna Menchu (26:43) were the last to finish for the Sunbirds.
"The team is looking strong and poised for the conference meet next weekend," said head coach
Landon Miller.
NEXT UP: The Sunbirds fly over to the big island to compete at the PacWest Conference Championships held on Saturday, October 25th. Both teams will compete at the Hawai'i Country Club. The women's race starts at 8 am, while the men compete at 8:45 am.
