FRESNO, Calif.- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds put up a strong fight but ultimately fell to the Point Loma Sea Lions Friday afternoon 7-0.
In the doubles, the Sea Lions and Sunbirds split the first two courts with PLNU taking Court 3 and FPU's Audrey Ouellet and Elise Leik taking Court 1, 6-2.
The Sea Lions ultimately took Court 2 to clinch the doubles point.
PLNU kept their momentum from the doubles into the singles taking Courts 6, 5, 3, and 2 to clinch the victory.
On Court 4, Daimy Paula was locked in a battle that ultimately went to a third set where she fell 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.
In the last match of the day, Nayuma Subba also put up a fight on Court 1 but fell 6-4, 7-6.
Up next, the 'Birds will be back at the Haak next Saturday at 2pm against the Biola Eagles.
