FRESNO, Calif.- After a heartbreaking loss yesterday the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds bounced back to sweep the Colorado Mesa Mavericks 4-0 Thursday morning.
The Mavericks struck first with a win on Court 3, but the Sunbirds answered quickly with a win on Court 2 by Nayuma Subba and Malia Mitchell 6-2 to even the score.
On Court 1, Elise Leik and Audrey Ouellet came through with the 6-4 to secure the doubles point for the Sunbirds.
Subba kept the momentum in a dominant straight sets win on Court 1 6-0, 6-1 to extend her six game singles win streak.
The winning continued for 'Birds as Leik took the victory of Court 3 6-2, 6-3.
On Court 4, Daimy Paula provided the match clinching point beating her opponent 6-2,6-3.
When play was halted Ouellet was battling back on Court 2 after dropping the first.
Play on Courts 5 and 6 had yet to be started.
The 'Birds will look to keep the momentum rolling as they welcome the Point Loma Sea Lions to town tomorrow at 1pm.
