FRESNO, Calif.- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds rolled to a 4-0 sweep over the Colorado Mesa Mavericks Thursday morning.
Ben Cronau and Sven Bangert got the Sunbirds rolling early with a 6-3 victory on Court 1.
Courts 2 and 3 both found themselves in a tiebreaker for the set.
Brodie Sodersten and Emilio Seelbach fought back after being down early in the tiebreaker to take the win 7-5 to give the 'Birds the doubles point.
Court 3 was knotted at 6-6 in the tiebreaker when play was halted due to the clinch.
In the singles, Ravi Nelson gave the Sunbirds their next point as he fought his way to a victory after being down early 7-5, 6-4.
Sodersten continued his momentum from yesterday on Court 2, fighting back after losing the first 6-4 to take the second and the third 6-2, 6-2.
The match clinching point for the Sunbirds came from Court 4, where Seelbach proved victorious over his Maverick opponent 7-5, 6-1.
When play was halted, Martin Ramirez was in a third set tiebreaker on Court 3 after dropping the first 6-1, storming back to take the second 6-4, and knotted the match in the third at 6-6.
Bangert and Gregor Kliimask also each had a set a pair when the match was clinched.
The Sunbirds will take a much deserved day off and be back in the courts Saturday at 1pm as they host the Point Loma Sea Lions.
