FRESNO, Calif.- In a morning crosstown showdown, the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds fell to the Fresno State Bulldogs 7-0 Friday at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs took the doubles point with victories on courts one and two.
When play was halted, Margarita Munoz and Halle Faherty were up 5-4 on court three.
Fresno State continued their dominance taking courts two, three, five, and one in straight sets to secure their victory.
On court four Audrey Ouellet came close to the comeback after dropping the first set 6-3, but eventually fell 7-5 in the second.
Similarly on court six, Munoz after dropping the first 6-0 battled back to take the second into a tie breaker at 6-6 before falling in the tie break 7-5.
The Sunbirds will be back at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center tomorrow morning at 10am to take on the Saint Mary's Gaels.
