FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds fell in an early morning match Saturday against the St. Mary's College Gaels at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. 

The Gaels secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three.

On court one, Nayuma Subba and Yume Ueoku were on serve 3-2 when play was halted. 

In the singles, SMC took four close straight set victories on courts six, five, two, and one to secure the win.

The closest match of the day was on court four where Elise Leik took the first set 7-6, dropped the second 6-2, and fell in a third set tie breaker 10-7. 

The Sunbirds will have their first home match of the season Saturday at 12pm against Jessup University.
