FRESNO, Calif.- After a five-match winning streak, the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (8-6 overall) finally saw their red-hot play halted, falling 7-0 to the Azusa Pacific Cougars (19-4 overall) Friday afternoon at the Haak Tennis Complex.

The Sunbirds had battled through a number of injuries throughout the winning streak but Friday ran into one of the top teams in the PacWest, ultimately bringing their win streak to a close.

Azusa grabbed the doubles point with wins on the first two courts.

Despite falling in straight sets, Fresno Pacific showed plenty of the fight that built their winning streak.

Daimy Paula forced an extra game in the first set and was nearly as close in set number two.

Audrey Ouellet had a strong second set before falling 6-2, 7-5 as well.

Fresno Pacific will get an opportunity to bounce right back on Monday when it hosts Holy Names for Senior Day at 10 a.m.

Sanne Brull, and Joshua Wong will be honored after the conclusion of the men's match, which starts at 2 p.m.
