RESULTS
AZUSA, Calif.- 50 year old records continued to fall as the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds Track and Field team filled the PacWest Championships with meaningful performances Saturday at the Cougar Athletic Stadium.

A day after
Jesse Franco dominated the hammer throw and broke Fresno Pacific school record, the Men's 4 x 100 relay posted a 40.57 to best the mark set in 1969.

Mark Smith,
Isaac Davis,
Garrett Fox, and
Obinna Elendu combined for second place with a blistering pace.
Â
The Women's relay also took second place with a strong showing at 45.27 pushing them to 5
th nationally.
Aubrianna Smith,
Madison Flores,
Ariana Vera and
Zara Anthony potentially punched their ticket to the NCAA DII National Championships with the performance.
Â
Jacob Resendez continued the momentum in the Men's 1500 with a strong final stretch to secure second place with a 3:50.33.

The 'Birds got back to the top step of the podium in the 110 hurdles as
Kalobe Jimenez returned to the event with a 14.05 for first place.
Cullin Bates grabbed third at 14.43.
Â
Fresno Pacific continued the tandem march to the podium in the 400 with Flores and Vera going two and three.
Â
They did just miss the podium in the 100 despite
Zara Anthony's 11.84 which took fourth.
Aubrianna Smith and
Iyanna Fuller posted career-bests in the event as well while netting points for FPU.
Â
Isaac Davis and
Garrett Fox impressed in the finals of the 100 with 3
rd and 4
th place finishes.
Â
Bo Olsen and
Emanuel Salas shined in the 800 to pick up 2
nd and 3
rd in what was an incredibly fast pace from the start.
Â
The 5k was filled with strong races from the Sunbirds as
Jacob Resendez led the way for his team at 14:40.57 to take third place.
Xavier Smith was right behind him and Rodney Chemalmal finished sixth.

The day on the track concluded with sparkling performances from the 4 x 400 teams.
Â
On the women's side, Fuller, Flores,
Brianna Green and Vera dominated by a full four seconds.
Â
After Fuller's strong start, Green pulled away on the second leg handing a massive lead to Flores who widened the gap, but it was Vera who ran the fastest leg of the bunch to close the win.

The men's team kept the excitement with a third place finish to close the two-day championship performance with another medal.
Â
In the field events, FPU was racking up points behind Franco and the Most Outstanding Male Field Athlete of the weekend,
Moe Bradley.
Â
Bradley's 16.59m mark in the shot put was the runaway winner while Franco was a clear second at 14.53.
Â
Bradley also won the Discus by a large margin, more than 15 feet further than Franco's second place mark.
Â
The wins gave FPU a sweep of the four throws on the weekend after Franco's hammer win and
Dejan Mileusnic's win in the javelin on Friday.
Â
Overall, the FPU men scored 190 points for 2
nd place while the women concluded the weekend in 5
th place.
Â
Fresno Pacific will participate in just a few more weekend events prior the NCAA National Championships at the end of May.
Â
The Sunbirds will participate in San Luis Obispo on May 6
th.
