SAN RAFAEL, Calif.- With the postseason looming, the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (8-5 overall) are turning it on at the perfect time as they picked up their fifth consecutive win with a 7-0 sweep of the Dominican Penguins (7-8 overall) Sunday afternoon at the Castellucci Family Tennis Center.

Lea Falentin won her 6
th consecutive singles match while combining with
Audrey Ouellet for a fifth straight win in doubles, anchoring the biggest winning streak of the year for the Sunbirds.

The timely streak has seen the last four come with key wins against PacWest opponents.

Elise Leik and
Nayuma Subba set the tone from the beginning, extending their own winning streak to four straight matches with a quick 6-1 set in #2 doubles.

That allowed Falentin and Ouellet to clinch the doubles point on Court No. 1 with a 6-4 victory.
Â
Armed with a 1-0 lead, the Sunbirds continued to roll in the match like they have been over the last few weeks.

Falentin cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory continuing the longest winning streak of the year for any Sunbird.

Her partner, Ouellet, was on her way to her own dominant victory when her opponent withdrew in the second set. Ouellet was up 6-2, 4-2 before the win was recorded.

Leik then sealed the match for Fresno Pacific with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 win, her 5
th consecutive win. Leik improves to 2-0 on the year in #4 singles this season.

Even though the win was clinched, Fresno Pacific flexed its strong play up and down the lineup.

Sanne Brull stepped up to #2 singles for the first time this season and came through with an emphatic 6-3, 6-2 win.

Daimy Paula and
Malia Mitchell were equally impressive in the 5
th and 6
th singles spots with both securing wins after a tiebreaker.

Fresno Pacific will return home to the Haak Tennis Complex on Friday to host Azusa Pacific at 2 p.m.
