FRESNO, Calif.- Call it a bounce back win for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (4-5 overall) as they returned home with a 5-0 win over the Menlo College Oaks (5-2 overall) Saturday morning at the Haak Tennis Complex.

Lea Falentin, Nayuma Subba and Elise Leik all delivered wins in singles and doubles as the 'Birds cruised to a win ahead of a busy weekend.

Subba and Leik struck first with a commanding 6-1 win in #2 doubles while Falentin and Audrey Ouellet sewed up the point in their doubles match with a solid run 6-1 victory.

Up 1-0, Subba quickly secured the second FPU point, winning 6-1, 6-1 on Court No. 2 continuing a strong string for the freshman who's recorded her fair share of big victories over the last two weeks.

This win was the second consecutive for Subba and gets above .500 on the season with a 5-4 record in #2 singles.

Malia Mitchell was the next Sunbird to secure a point, snapping a three match losing streak, with a dominant 6-1, 6-3 win.

With the Sunbirds on the doorstep of clinching victory, Elise Leik was fantastic, cruising to a straight set victory 6-1, 6-4 holding off Lea Mocher in the second set.

Falentin closed out a three set victory, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to add the fifth and decisive point for FPU.

Ouellet and Daimy Paula's single matches were left unfinished.

It's a solid win for FPU after a grueling stretch against top competition. With rain expected over the next week, the busy schedule has been shifted with FPU ready to take on Colorado Mesa at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. The 'Birds are also scheduled to play MSU Denver at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The men will play simultaneously with all four matches scheduled for the Haak Tennis Complex.
