AZUSA, Calif.-
Brodie Sodersten was in a couple of dynamic battles but the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (1-6 overall) fell short 7-0 against the No. 15 Midwestern State Mustangs (8-6 overall) Thursday afternoon at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex.
Rain pushed the start time back three hours in Azusa but it didn't dampen the Mustangs form at all.
Sodersten and
Joshua Wong were leading 5-4 in #2 doubles when Midwestern State clinched the doubles point 6-3 on Court No. 1 and 6-2 on Court No. 3.
Sodersten also forced a superset tiebreaker in the third after dropping the first set. He bounced back with a 7-5 win before falling 10-4 in tiebreaker.
Fresno Pacific will get a break from the road with a busy week at the Haak Tennis Complex beginning on Saturday. FPU hosts Menlo at 2 p.m. on the FPU Campus before returning to action with home matches Tuesday and Wednesday.
