FRESNO, Calif.-Audrey Ouellet and
Nayuma Subba did not lose a set while highlighting a statement victory for the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (1-2 overall) in their 6-1 win over the Biola Eagles (1-1 overall) at the Haak Tennis Complex Monday afternoon.
Ouellet and
Lea Falentin secured the doubles point 6-4 on court one to give Fresno Pacific the early lead and momentum.
They broke a 1-1 tie in doubles after Subba and
Elise Leik picked up a doubles win on court 3, quickly winning 6-1 and creating the tie.
Fresno Pacific capitalized on the momentum with Subba rolling to a 6-2, 6-0 win.
Up 2-0 in the match, Ouellet was not too far behind with a 6-4, 6-1 win to extend the lead.
Sanne Brull quickly secured the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win as the senior controlled the match from the first serve.
After Biola picked up its first win of the day with a victory on court 5, Falentin bounced back from a second set loss to grab the 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 win.
Malia Mitchell tacked on the final point with 2-6, 7-5, 10-5 win on court 6 to complete the impressive performance.
The Sunbirds aim to carry the momentum into Oakland on Wednesday when they travel to play Holy Names in PacWest action.
