FRESNO, Calif.-Ben Cronau won in both doubles and singles to be apart of both of the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (0-2 overall) points in a 5-2 loss to the Biola Eagles (3-1 overall) Monday afternoon at the Haak Tennis Complex.
Cronau and
Sven Bangert won 7-5 to clinch the doubles point and give Fresno Pacific the lead.
The combo on court 2 was setup to earn the point after
Brodie Sodersten and
Joshua Wong sealed their set 6-4 as the Sunbirds won both of the finished matches in doubles.
But Biola quickly applied the pressure with wins on courts 3 and 1.
Grego Kliimask bounced back in set two to earn a 6-4 win and force a third set on court 5, but Biola pulled itself one point away by taking that court as well.
Wong went to a tiebreaker in the first set but fell 7-6 (8-6) and dropped the second set as Biola clinched the match.
Cronau earned a 7-5 win in his first set on court 2 and then grabbed Fresno Pacific's second point with a 6-3 win.
Fresno Pacific will hit the road Wednesday when it takes on Holy Names for PacWest action.
