HONOLULU, Hawaii.- The Fresno Pacific Sunbirds fell in straight sets 3-0 to the #16 Chaminade Silverswords Friday night at McCabe Gymnasium. 

The Sunbirds fell behind quickly in the first set as the Silverswords went on large runs leading by as much as eight points. 

Late in the first, Fresno Pacific managed to close the gap to four points after a run of points off kills from Makena Ogas and Madison Girnius and Silversword errors. 

It was close as the Sunbirds would get as, losing the first 25-17. 

The second set proved to be the most tightly contested set with eight tie scores and three lead changes.
 
The Silverswords and the Sunbirds traded points early.

At 6-6, the Sunbirds won five of the next seven points to take their first lead of the match at 11-7. 

A series of errors on the Sunbirds allowed the Silverswords to storm back and tie the match at 14-14.  

Chaminade would retake the lead and the set 25-17 to take a two-set lead. 

Early in the third, kills from Ogas, Geneva Elliott, and Corinne Acosta allowed the Sunbirds to stay close to the Silverswords. 

Chaminade would pull away after going on a seven point run to take the lead 20-13, only allowing the Sunbirds one more point before taking the third 25-14 and the match 3-0. 

The Sunbirds will be back in action Saturday at 6pm HST against the Hawaii Pacific University Sharks at The Shark Tank.
