HILO, Hawai'i-A flurry of goals at the start of the second half sunk the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds (6-4-2 overall, 3-2-0 PacWest) in a 3-0 loss to the first place Hawai'i Hilo Vulcans (9-0-2 overall, 4-0-1 PacWest) Saturday afternoon.
After keeping a clean sheet for 45 minutes, FPU conceded three goals in a span of six minutes.
The Sunbirds had few chances as the rain set in with Hilo holding the edge in shots (16-5) and corners (6-3).
Fresno Pacific will switch islands before matching up with Chaminade on Tuesday at 1 p.m. (PST) at Saint Louis High School in Honolulu.
