FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University men's soccer team opened PacWest Conference play when they hosted Point Loma on Saturday night. The Sunbirds couldn't keep pace with the Sea Lions, as they succumbed 3-0.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• (31:37) After an even 30 minutes of play, the Sea Lions got on the board when Parker Scalzo scored off a pass from Townsend Meyer.
• (61:33) Scalzo added to the PLNU lead, this time on his own.
• (71) Lucas Purgato cashed in on a penalty opportunity to score the final goal of the match.  

STATS FROM THE GAME

• FPU stormed back into the contest, putting up 19 shots in the second half.
• The Sunbirds forced the Sea Lions to make nine saves throughout the contest.
• Fellipe Souza was relentless, putting seven shots with three coming on goal.
• Gabriel Monteiro was another Bird on attack, putting up four shots throughout the match.
• Angel Ruelas was solid off the bench, putting up a pair of shots.
