FULLERTON, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's tennis team made the trip south to take on Cal State Fullerton on Saturday afternoon, but the Sunbirds came up on the wrong end of a 7-0 final score. 

QUOTABLE:

• "It's always a great opportunity to play teams that will challenge us mentally and physically, and today was just that. We have to bridge the gap between D2 teams and D1 teams. We are very close to achieving that, and the score didn't accurately reflect how close a match today was. We will keep working on closing out games once we get to deuce. HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Titans won the doubles point to start the scoring for the afternoon. 
• CSUF's YuSeung Suh pushed the lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Alice Marques in the fourth flight. 
• Daimy Paula fell on Court Six, and Misaki Kobayashi clinched the Titan victory with a win in the top flight. 
• Lea Falentin provided FPU's tightest battle of the day in the second flight before falling 6-4, 6-3 to Eira Tobrand. 

 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• The Sunbirds have now played five matches against NCAA Division I opponents this season.

 
UP NEXT:

• The Blue and Orange return to action on Friday, when they hit the road again for a match against former conference foe Westmont. The match is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. from Santa Barbara.
