FRESNO, Calif. – Competition brought out the best in several members of the Fresno Pacific track and field team as they battled a stacked field that featured six NCAA DI teams at the Spring Break Invitational on Saturday.

QUOTABLE:   

• "Today was exciting because we had the opportunity to host a number of strong schools who have never been to our facility. Competing against different and talented competition made for great energy all day. That translated into big marks for many athletes both on the track and in the field events." - head coach Ray Winter 

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• The day went to Kyra Bailey, who won both the 100-meter dash with a 12.19 and 200m (24.86) races in lifetime bests. Her times now place her eighth and seventh, respectively, on FPU's all-time list.
• The 'Birds swept the sprint events with Danae Manibog's win in the 400m in a season-best 55.89.
• The best performance in field events came from Christy Norris who won the shot put in a lifetime best and nationals provisional standard of 45'7.25".
• Kristi Yorke continues to rise to new heights in the pole vault, adding a couple more inches to her lifetime best in going 12'3.5". The mark is a provisional for nationals.
• Cullin Bates won the 110-meter hurdles with a lifetime best of 14.71, moving him to sixth all-time for FPU.
• Bryan Banuelos ran his first 1500m of the season, coming away with a lifetime best of 3:55.32 that places him sixth all-time for FPU.
• Bjoern Adden jumped a lifetime best 6'6" to finish second in the high jump. The effort ties him for 10th all-time in FPU's record books.
• Isaac Davis was runner-up in the long jump with a lifetime best of 22'11.75".

• FPU will be back on their home track on Saturday, March 20^th as they host the State Center Invitational.
