FRESNO, Calif. -  Nayeli Lara of Fresno Pacific women's soccer team netted two goals in the first half en route to a 2-0 victory over Academy of Art Tuesday night at Ramirez Field.  

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

QUOTABLE:   

• "We played with more urgency tonight. We played our best game as far as midfield play, combining things and playing quickly through the middle and finding our forward options. We ended up creating 28 chances and it was nice to see us on the attack most of the game." – head coach Rob Podeyn.  

SCORING:  

• (2:37) The Sunbirds wasted no time scoring, as Lara hammered home a pass from Jet Hardy to give FPU an early lead.   
• (7:53) The duo teamed up again, extending the Blue & Orange lead to 2-0 with a little more than 82 minutes remaining in the game. 

STATS FROM THE GAME:  

• FPU out-shot their guests 28-10, owning a 11-4 advantage in the first half before going 17-6 in the second half.
• Chiara Soergel recorded four saves on the way to her fourth clean sheet of the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE: 

• The goals were the first of Lara's career.
• FPU advances to 9-1-1 all-time in matchups against the Urban Knights.
