FRESNO, Calif. -  The FPU women's tennis team made the short trip across town on Friday, falling 7-0 at the hands of Fresno State.

We had more opportunities to win a match, but we still have work to do to keep improving. HOW IT HAPPENED:  

• The Bulldogs earned the doubles point with victories in the top two flights. 
• Lea Falentin highlighted the singles effort for the Blue and Orange, forcing a tiebreaking set against Dalia Ahmed on court two. 
• Alice Marques nearly pulled out the win in the fourth flight, falling 7-5 in the first match against Cristina Flaquer.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:  

• FPU was ranked 17^th nationally in the preseason edition of the ITA polls. 

UP NEXT:  

• The Sunbirds will have a quick turnaround before visiting University of the Pacific on Sunday afternoon. The match is schedule to begin at 1:00 p.m. from Stockton.
