FRESNO, Calif. - Five seniors were celebrated prior to the opening kick between the Fresno Pacific women's soccer team and the visiting Dominican Penguins on Thursday night. An early goal from Dominican proved to be the difference, as the lone goal held up as the game-winner.

SCORING:  

• (7:03) After a foul from the Sunbirds, the visitors got on the board first when Annika Cerini scored off a free kick from Ayla Harris. 
   

STATS FROM THE GAME:  

• FPU outshot their guests 14-7, including a mark of 4-2 in shots on target. 
• Chiara Soergel recorded four saves for the Sunbirds, while Jaqueline Catano needed only three for the shutout win. 

 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE: 

• Soergel's streak of 270 minutes without allowing a goal came to a close on Thursday, and she has now allowed just one goal in four games.
