HONOLULU – Catie Speas of the Fresno Pacific University volleyball team had a strong showing against Chaminade on Wednesday night, but it wasn't enough as the Silverswords swept the Sunbirds 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-15) on their home court.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Silverswords proved to be tough early, jumping out to an 18-10 lead before taking the first set 25-18.
• The Sunbirds trailed 11-9 in the second set when Lauren Wamsley had a kill that sparked a 9-3 run, putting them up 18-14.
• The 'Swords stormed back to take the set 25-21.
• The home team controlled most of the third set, taking it 25-15 and the match 3-0.

STATS FROM THE GAME

• Speas was the standout for the Sunbirds, dishing out 21 assists while adding 10 digs and a service ace.
• Speas assisted on 21 of the 27 kills the team accrued throughout the match.
• Wamsley and Makena Ogas tied for a team-high six kills.
• Ogas was efficient with her chances, hitting at a .214 clip.
• Anastassiya Barakhoyeva led the Blue and Orange with 19 digs.
• Chantel Montayre added 17 digs of her own.
