Sunbirds Erupt for Five Goals against Sharks

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's soccer team erupted for their highest point total of the season, as the Sunbirds hammered the Sharks 5-0 on Tuesday evening at Ramirez Field. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • (9:28) Ariana Quintero opened the scoring for the Sunbirds when she made good on a pass from Tori De Leon. 
  • (11:53) De Leon helped on the second goal of the match, assisting Alexis Macias on her first goal of the season. 
  • (23:14) Ana Paula Fraiz took advantage of an opportunity off a rebound, smashing one past the keeper to put the Sunbirds up 3-0 in the first half. 
  • (60:26) Makayla Montoya added to the Birds lead in the second half, scoring from just outside the box. 
  • (68:22) De Leon finished an incredible night with her fifth goal of the season. 
STATS FROM THE GAME
  • The Sunbirds sent 12 shots at the Sharks, seven of which came on goal. 
  • Montoya led the charge with three shots, while Macias fired two of her own.
