FPU Completes Season Sweep of Dominican

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University volleyball team opened their final weekend of the regular season on the road against Dominican on Thursday night. For the second time this season, the Sunbirds swept the Penguins 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-21) inside the Conlan Center.

QUOTABLE
"This is the first time that we have beaten Dominican twice in conference play since 2017 and the first time that we have beaten them at their place since 2018. For some reason, we struggle to play in their gym. We wanted to end that tonight and we did. I wasn't happy about our slow start in sets the first and second sets, but in the end, we finished strong. Corinne Acosta was incredible for us tonight with 17 kills, only 2 errors, on 51 swings hitting .294. Makena Ogas also continues to be a force for us at the net. Catie Speas stepped up her defense tonight posting a double-double in digs and assists. It was a great team effort, and we are happy to finally get a win at their place."– head coach Shasta Millhollin.
