RENO, Nev. – The Fresno Pacific University women's basketball team opened their season with an exhibition against Nevada on Sunday afternoon, as the Sunbirds got their early-season reps in as the game went 73-49 to the Wolfpack.
QUOTABLE
"It was a perfect first game for our team. Our defense showed up and proved that it can be the strongest part of our identity this year. In the first half, we played exactly how we want to play going forward. The third quarter got away from us a little bit, but we still got quality shots that could've kept us in the game, but they didn't fall. We rested who we needed to in the fourth quarter and got reps for those who we needed to as well. We are excited about the challenge of taking on Fresno State next week. Many things to work on and many things to be excited about. That's all you can hope for in October basketball." - head coach
Tim Beauregard.
