FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University volleyball team forced a fourth set against Holy Names on Wednesday night, but the Hawks downed the Sunbirds 3-1 (25-18, 25-14, 20-25, 25-23) inside the Special Events Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks jumped out to an early 7-2 lead in the first set and went on to take it 25-18.
- Makena Ogas had a kill that tied the second set at six, but HNU ripped off a 16-2 run that led to a 25-14.
- The Sunbirds trailed 16-15 in the third set, when they put together an 8-1 run that put the team up 22-17. They'd go on to take the third set 25-20.
- The final set came down to the closing moments, as the Hawks used a 6-3 run to close it out 25-23 and take the match 25-23.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- Corinne Acosta led the Sunbirds with 13 kills while adding 18 digs for a solid-double-double.
- Ogas was efficient, hammering home 11 kills on a .269 hitting percentage.
- Chloe Melis was a menace at the net, racking up five total blocks while adding six kills.
- Catie Speas ran the offense to the tune of 33 assists.
- Anastassiya Barakhoyeva led the team with 22 digs.
