LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University volleyball team took the second set against Biola on Friday night, but it wasn't enough as the Eagles downed the Sunbirds 3-1 (25-8, 22-25, 25-14, 25-23).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles were dominant in the first set, taking it 25-8.
- FPU answered in the second set when Corinne Acosta had a kill that led to a 9-2 run for the Sunbirds that put them up 23-17.
- The Birds took the second set 25-22.
- BU went up 17-8 in the third set and would go on to take it 25-14.
- The Sunbirds trailed 11-9 in the fourth set when they busted out a 7-1 run to go up 16-12.
- Biola found a way to pull ahead late, taking the final set 25-23 and the match 3-1.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- Acosta led the Sunbirds with 13 kills while adding 16 digs to a strong performance.
- Chantel Montayre led the team with 23 digs and an amazing five aces in tonight's match.
- Catie Speas tied for a match-high with 23 assists.
