Blue and Orange Prevail in Physical Battle with UCSC

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team picked up its' second straight home victory on Saturday night, defeating UC Santa Cruz 2-1 at Ramirez Field. 
 
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:
- Final: Fresno Pacific 2, UC Santa Cruz 1
- Records: FPU (2-5-0), UCSC (1-5-0)
- All-Time Series: FPU leads 9-1-0
 
SCORING:
- (1:17) Antonio Lepe connected with Fellipe Souza, who flicked to Pak Hei Chan for the early score.     
- (19:40) Souza got in on the scoring after a perfect cross from Tony Torres, putting the 'Birds up 2-0 in the early going.
- (56:04) Will Barba provided the lone score of the night for the Banana Slugs, heading it home from six yards out.  

STATS FROM THE GAME:
- Fresno Pacific outshot their hosts 21-12, including a 5-4 mark in shots on target.      
- FPU keeper Logan Dinsdale picked up three saves, enough for the win, before giving way to Patrick Timmer for the final 21 minutes.    
   
BEYOND THE BOX:
- The Sunbirds are 5-0 all-time at Ramirez Field against UCSC, outscoring the Banana Slugs 18-4 in that stretch.
