FPU Falls to Cal Poly, Home Opener on Saturday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's soccer team was tripped up on Tuesday night, falling to NCAA Division-I opponent Cal Poly on the road.
 
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

SCORING:
  • (11:04) Spencer Held played a ball into the box to find Emmanuel Perez, who opened the scoring with a shot from 12 yards out.
  • (41:11) Held dribbled 30 yards up the right side before making a cut and firing toward the right post to give the Mustangs a 2-0 edge heading to the intermission.  
  • (64:35) Perez returned the favor for Held in the 65th minute, setting up Held for a shot at the left post.  
 
STATS FROM THE GAME:
  • Cal Poly outshot their guests 10-6, including a 7-1 mark in shots on target.   
  • Logan Dinsdale racked up four saves in the net for the Sunbirds.    
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
  • The Sunbirds held the Mustangs under four goals for the first time in the last five meetings.
