TURLOCK, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's tennis team improved to 6-1 on Saturday afternoon, defeating Stanislaus State 4-3 on the road. The Sunbirds have now defeated all three PacWest Conference opponents this season, keeping the Blue and Orange at the top of the league standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Warriors took all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the afternoon.

Imane Van Veen was the first to wrap up her singles match, defeating Kayla Nguyen 6-2, 6-3 in the fourth flight.

Ioanna Lathouri followed with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of Amila Gogalija to give the 'Birds a 2-1 lead.
• The sixth flight saw
Sanne Brull take down Taylor Galya 6-4, 7-5 before Cassidy Ferrell gave Stanislaus State its' second point of the day in the top flight.

Gaya Solomon and CSUS' Sylvana Talamantes went to three sets before Solomon gave the Sunbirds the clinching fourth point of the day.

Alice Di Matteo suffered her first loss of the year in the final matching, falling 6-4 in the third set against Maria Ochoa.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• FPU is in the middle of a stretch of seven matches in eight days.
• Lathouri has yet to drop a singles match this spring, as she is 5-0 in the second flight and 2-0 in the third flight.

• The Sunbirds are back in action on Sunday, in Rohnert Park, when they look to extend the win streak to five. FPU is set to take on Mills College at 10 a.m. and follow with a match against Sonoma State at 1 p.m.
