SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – A day after picking up the season sweep of Holy Names, the Fresno Pacific women's tennis team defeated Dominican for the second time by a final of 7-0. The Sunbirds improve to 9-2 with the win, including a mark of 6-2 against opponents in the PacWest Conference. 
 
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds swept doubles play to earn the first point of the afternoon. 
• Claudia Iglesias was the first to wrap up her singles match, making quick work of Nicole Bermudez in the sixth flight.     
• Ioanna Lathouri came away with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the singles flight, and Marina Lex knocked off Kaitlyn Nguyen 6-4, 6-2 in the top flight to earn the clinching point.
• Imane Van Veen then won the fourth flight 6-2, 6-3 before Alice Di Matteo defeated Alex Wartenberg 10-8 in a hard-fought third set in #3 singles.
• Sanne Brull finished off the sweep with a 6-4, 7-5 victory in the final flight.
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
• FPU has swept opponents five times this season, including Dominican on two occasions.
• The Sunbirds are at home for the rest of the regular season.   
• At 9-2, FPU still has less losses than any team in the PacWest Conference.
