FRESNO, CALIF. – Coming off of a big win over Holy Names just four days ago the Sunbirds hosted Azusa Pacific in the Special Events Center on Wednesday, November 6
th. FPU and APU have yet to face off this season. The Cougars came into the match ranked second in the PacWest while the Sunbirds are ranked ninth.
INSIDE THE MATCH UPS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Cougars got off to quick start in the first set as the jumped out to 12-7 lead. Corinne Acosta had three straight kills to close the Cougars lead to 18-15 but APU still pulled away to take the opening set.
- Set number two started out pretty similar as the Cougars went up 8-4 on the 'Birds. FPU managed to string together three-points while APU had match point. APU however took the second set on a solo block.
- APU got off to a similar start in the third and final set taking a 17-10 lead. The 'Birds closed the gap to 16-21 after two kills and a block by Christina Tran. The Cougars took the final three-points of game off of errors by the Sunbirds.
