RIVERSIDE, CALIF.  –  The Sunbirds traveled to Riverside to compete in the WWPA Championships hosted by California Baptist. Fresno Pacific drew the number one seed, UC Davis in their opening round of play.
 
INSIDE THE MATCHUPS:
Final: UC Davis 21, Fresno Pacific 3
Records: UCD (14-7), FPU (6-22)
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Aggies got on the board first as they scored within the first few minutes of opening period. Davis added three more goals before Zach Zetz found the back of the net for the 'Birds. With 23 seconds left to play the Aggies extended their lead to four and close out the first quarter.  
• Davis added two more goals to their lead then Uros Pelemis scored on a penalty shot to pick up the 'Birds second goal. The Aggies grabbed to more goals before the end of the second quarter giving them a seven-goal lead.
• UCD added six more goals to their lead before Curtis Vidinoff scored the 'Birds last goal of the game.
• The Aggies tacked on six more goals in the competition to take down the 'Birds and move on to the next round of the playoffs.

 
STATS OF THE GAMES:

• Curtis Vidinoff, Uros Pelemis and Zach Zetz each scored a goal in the loss.
• Joshua Ramage recorded five saves, while Michael Hicks added two for the 'Birds in the cage. 
• FPU was one for one on penalty shots.
