Sunbirds Take Down the Hawks

OAKLAND, CALIF.  – Fresno Pacific traveled up to the Bay to take on Holy Names on Saturday, November 2th. The Sunbirds and Hawks battled for five sets but FPU managed to come away with the win. When HNU came to Fresno the Blue and Orange dominated in a three-set sweep.

"Hands down our bench was the sole reason that we were able to bounce back and win the match today. They were a steady source of energy, encouragement, and accountability for our team and that was the difference in a tight match. We could not be more-proud of our bench and their selflessness," said head coach Shasta Millhollin.

Millhollin continued, "Their gym was packed because it's their homecoming and they were playing really well. We were down 1-2 and began to play much better to win set four with a big point differential. Then we battled in the fifth set to win 15-13. We are so proud of our team for grinding through a tough match and using top notch focus and resilience to get the job done. The fact that we did that with only two upperclassmen is pretty incredible!"
