Pisik Drops 30 in Win Over Cal State Monterey Bay

FRESNO, Calif. – The Sunbirds picked up their second win of the season as they hosted the Otters of Cal State Monterey Bay on Thursday night at the Special Events Center. Fresno Pacific was led by Cassie Pisik as she scored a career high of 30 points while adding 14 rebounds and collecting her 16th career double-double.
 

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• FPU and CSMB were back-and-forth for the first few minutes of play until the 'Birds went on a seven-point run to take an eight-point lead over the Otters. The 'Birds ended the first quarter on another seven-point run to lead 22-13.
• The Otters fought back in the second quarter however to bring it to a one-point game heading into halftime.  
• To open up the third quarter the 'Birds went on a 14-point run, seven of which were baskets made by Cassie Pisik. CSMB chipped away at FPU's lead but the 'Birds managed to knock down two sets of free throws late in the third to keep the lead heading into the final quarter.   
• Fresno managed to keep Monterey Bay at arms distance for the remainder of the game. Cassie Pisik scored her 29th and 30th points as she knocked down two free throws to secure the win.
 
STATS FROM THE GAME:
Cassie Pisik led all scorers with 30 points while adding 14 rebounds to collect her 16th career double-double and move into 8th place all time.
Ashley Cross followed with 12 points of her own, while Felicia Dourva turned in nine respectively.
