HILO, HAWAI'I. – Hoping to leave the islands on a high note the 'Birds traveled to Hilo to take on the Vulcans on Saturday night in the UHH Gymnasium. Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Fresno Pacific and Hilo battled point-for-point in the opening points of the match. UHH pulled away though as they took a 14-10 lead and stayed ahead the rest of the set. Â
- The second was also back and forth but the 'Birds had the lead a few times but could never pull away from the Vulcans. Despite pushing the set to a few extra points UHH managed to take the second set as well.
- UHH took an early lead in the final set of the match, but FPU fought back and managed to lead a couple times in the set. The Vulcans, however found a way to take the final set from the 'Birds and secure the three-game sweep.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Corinne Acosta recorded a double-double despite the loss as she led the team in kills with 11 and digs with 19.
- Senior Christina Tran had 20 assists, seven digs, and five kills for FPU.
- The Sunbirds totaled four service aces and eight blocking assists in the loss.
