FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific volleyball team continued PacWest play on Saturday down south, as the Sunbirds fell for the second consecutive day. FPU couldn't hold Biola's offense at bay as the 'Birds fell in straight sets.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The opening set went to Biola despite FPU holding an early lead and
Carley Bock leading all players with five kills. BU used a 6-1 run in the middle of the set to earn a lead and hold on for the opening frame victory.
• FPU used a 5-0 in the second frame, fueled by two kills and a solo block from
Caroline Bodziak, to take an early lead. With the score tied 15-15, the Eagles ran off four straight points to take control.
• The Eagles continued their momentum into the third set and used a strong start to earn the sweep of the Sunbirds.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
• Bodziak led the Sunbirds offensively with 10 kills on .333 hitting, while Bock added eight kills and freshmen
Mikayla Kennedy and
Jaalyn Sotoa-Stuebing totaled five kills apiece.
Greta Dobenecker added a double-double of 21 assists and 10 digs,
Chantel Montayre totaled nine digs and
Hannah Miller added eight scoops for FPU.
• Biola, who hit .281 as a team, received nine kills from Sierra Bauder in the win.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• The Sunbirds picked up two solo blocks on the afternoon, which marks a tie for a season high.
