FRESNO, Calif. – Donning green throwback uniforms, the Fresno Pacific men's soccer team picked up a 4-2 non-conference victory over Dominican on Saturday evening. The Sunbirds have won back-to-back games for the second time this season and remain unbeaten at their home field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds came out with an attacking mindset, scoring two goals in the first seven minutes of the game.
• Dominican got one back in the 29th minute to cut it to 2-1 at the intermission, but the Blue and Orange answered with another two scores early in the second half.
• The Penguins were able to add another goal late but would get no closer, allowing the Sunbirds to pick up another victory at Ramirez Field.
SCORING:
• (5:49) Anthony Velarde dribbled into the box before passing off to
Reece Rivera for the score.
• (7:03) Velarde struck again, stealing the ball from a defender and working his way through traffic to give the 'Birds a 2-0 lead.
• (28:43) After a Dominican corner kick, the ball scrambled to the middle of the box, paving the way for Greg Natt to get the Penguins on the board.
• (64:05) Velarde again dribbled through the Dominican back line, finding
Eric Sanchez for a one-on-one with the keeper.
• (75:00) Bruno Brumati laid the ball up perfectly for
Pak Hei Chan, who took a shot that caromed off the crossbar and in for the final Sunbird goal.

(87:01) Wilson Briggs was able to beat FPU's goalkeeper in a one-on-one for his team-best sixth goal of the season.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• Fresno Pacific outshot their guests 20-14, but Dominican took a 9-8 edge in shots on target.
• William Finnie picked up four saves in the Penguin net, while
Patrick Timmer racked up seven before giving way to
Logan Dinsdale for the final 10 minutes.
• The Penguins took nine of the game's 16 corner kicks.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Velarde has tallied at least one point in every FPU game this season, and he now leads the team in goals (5) and assists (9).
• Timmer's six saves set a new season-high, while Dinsdale was credited with the first save of his collegiate career.
