FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's soccer team snapped a four-game losing skid on Monday night, cooling off red-hot Academy of Art with a 1-0 victory at Ramirez Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds came out firing 16 seconds into the game, but
Alexis Macias' opening salvo bent just over the crossbar.
• FPU broke through with a score in the 36th minute, but the duration of the game provided no shortage of offensive opportunities.
• Fresno Pacific's biggest chance in the second half came just as the clock rolled over to the 87th minute when
Anissia Gonzalez missed the far post by a matter of inches.
• The Urban Knights sent everyone right back down the field, including goalkeeper Lara Pflicke, who took the final shot of the game from the top of the box at point blank range.
SCORING:
• (35:20) Rachel Anderson stole the ball from an ART U defender before firing from the top of the box for her first goal of the year.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• The Sunbirds outshot their hosts 22-6, including a 7-5 mark in shots on frame.

Alex Benevidez tallied five saves en route to her first clean sheet of the year, while Urban Knight keepers Lara Pflicke and Morgan Wirz combined for six saves.
