CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific men's water polo team wrapped up a perfect weekend at the Gary Troyer Tournament in dramatic fashion on Saturday. After winning the opening game against Iona 15-10, the Sunbirds needed a buzzer beater to take down Chapman 18-17 and complete a 4-0 weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds cruised in the opener, as FPU held a 7-5 lead at halftime. A five-goal third quarter for the 'Birds made the difference.
• In the fourth game of the weekend, FPU and Chapman went back forth throughout the match. FPU then scored twice with under a minute left to escape with the win. The final goal came on a full-pool shot from goalie
Michael Hicks, who stole the ball and fired the length of the pool as the buzzer sounded on an empty net.

STATS OF THE GAMES:

Kyle Eoff led the Sunbirds in the opener, as the senior found the back of the cage five times in the win over Iona.
Lazar Raca added three goals and an assist, while
Joshua Ramage tallied 10 saves in the net.
• In the win over Chapman, the Sunbirds received three goals apiece from
Richard Szepesi, Eoff and
Jacob Fairchild.
Uros Pelemis amassed four goals from FPU, while Hicks added 10 saves on top of his heroic goal.
