LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's soccer team earned a 1-0 road victory on Saturday night, making an 8th-minute goal stand as the game-winner. The Sunbirds are back above .500 in PacWest Conference play with the win, while the Eagles took a hit in the league standings. 
 
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• FPU got on the board early and kept pressure on the Eagles throughout the first half, carrying a 1-0 lead into the intermission.  
• The Sunbirds didn't let up offensively, taking another eight shots in the second half to maintain the bulk of the possession.
 
SCORING: 
• (7:35) Mackenzie Reynolds led Tori De Leon in open space, allowing the freshman to deliver her second goal of the season.
 
STATS FROM THE GAME:
• FPU outshot their hosts 19-3, including a 9-1 mark in shots on frame.
• Alyssa Joel gave the Eagles a season-high eight saves between the posts, while senior Alex Benevidez needed just one to deliver her third clean sheet of the year. 
• The Sunbirds took six of the game's eight corner kicks. 
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Benevidez has been in the net for each of FPU's wins this season, and she is now tied for seventh on the program's single-season list for shutouts.
