FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific volleyball team returned home to begin a seven-game homestand on Friday. The Sunbirds struggled offensively as Point Loma earned a 3-0 win at the Special Events Center in PacWest play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds battled back in the opening set, but a 7-0 Sea Lion run in the middle of the frame proved to be the difference.
• The Sunbirds had trouble slowing the PLNU offense in the second set who hit .310 in the frame.
• The 'Birds used a 7-1 run late in the third frame to scare Point Loma, but it was too little too late as the Sea Lions escaped with the 25-22 win.
STATS OF THE MATCH:

Carley Bock led FPU with nine kills, while
Madison Pierce added eight on .263 hitting.
Jaalyn Sotoa-Stuebing and
Mikayla Kennedy added seven kills apiece. Kennedy also totaled three blocks.

Greta Dobenecker dished out 26 assists, while
Sierra LeBeau accumulated 18 digs and
Hannah Miller added 10 digs for FPU.
• PLNU received 10 kills from Rachael Schlect in the win.
