SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Fresno Pacific received a game-high 17 kills from Carley Bock on Friday night, but the Sunbirds fell at Dominican 3-0 in PacWest play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• FPU couldn't overcome a slow start after falling behind 8-3 in the opening set.
• Set two went back and forth before DUC used a 4-1 run late in the frame to take control.
• The Sunbirds led 23-21 in the third, but the Penguins stormed back and scored five of the last six points to earn the match victory.
 
STATS OF THE MATCH:
• Bock's 17 kills came on .317 hitting. The senior also added seven digs and two service aces for the Sunbirds.
• Sierra LeBeau added 16 digs for the 'Birds, while Greta Dobenecker chipped in with 28 assists and seven digs.
• FPU couldn't overcome 26 attack errors on the night, as the 'Birds were held under .100 hitting for the match.
 
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Bock has totaled double-digit kill efforts in seven of the last eight matches for the 'Birds.
