FPU Women’s Soccer Prepares for Pair of CCAA Foes

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's soccer team is set to play two matches this week, hosting Cal State East Bay on Thursday before heading south for a road game against Cal State L.A. on Saturday.  
 
About the Sunbirds (0-2-0)
• Fresno Pacific fell against #22 Sonoma State and Humboldt State last week, starting the season 0-2 for the first time since 2014.
• Thursday will be FPU's first home game of the season, and the Sunbirds went 6-2 at Ramirez Field last fall.
• The Sunbirds will open the season with four CCAA schools before heading to Central Washington for the final non-conference tune-up.

• Dating back to the start of the 2014 season, the Pioneers are 5-5-2 against PacWest Conference teams.
• In the same stretch, CSUEB has gone 5-17-2 away from Pioneer Stadium.
• Ina Gonzalez and Cheyanne Foster have split time in the net in the early going, combining for five saves.

 About the Golden Eagles
• Cal State L.A. defeated Azusa Pacific in the season opener but most recently fell on the road against Simon Fraser.
• Adriana Maldonado has been impressive in the net so far, tallying 11 saves and allowing just two goals.
• The Golden Eagles posted a 6-2-2 record at their home facility last season.
