QUOTABLE:
• "We worked really hard on Thursday, so the first 15 minutes tonight was about bringing the same intensity. We wanted to make a statement at home, and It helped that we got two goals early. We had a big crowd tonight, so that pumped us up and got us through." – sophomore Rachel Anderson

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• FPU started the scoring in the game's 11th minute before adding a second score 19 minutes later.
• The Sea Lions cut the deficit to one before the first half ended, but defense prevailed after the intermission, as both teams were held scoreless.

SCORING:
• (10:09) Anderson handled Anissia Gonzalez' corner kick, turning it into her second goal of the year with a header to the lower right corner.
• (29:16) The Point Loma keeper left the net, but the ball bounced in and out of her hands on a diving effort. Alexis Macias quickly dribbled to her right and launched to a wide open net to put the Sunbirds in front 2-0.
• (34:18) Abbi Swanson's corner kick found the right foot of Keagan Bolibol, who immediately turned and fired a shot past FPU's Summer Hammond.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Point Loma outshot their hosts 21-17, but Fresno Pacific took the edge in shots on target by a tally of 11-7.
• Each team took four corner kicks, while the Sunbirds picked up 15 of the game's 26 fouls.
• Brianna Lindell recorded eight saves, while Hammond needed just six to help the Blue and Orange improve to 2-0 in conference action.

BEYOND THE BOX:
• Saturday's victory is FPU's first over Point Loma since winning by the same score in Fresno in 2013.
• The winning team has scored two goals in each of the last five meetings.
• Fresno Pacific has taken 45 shots in just PacWest contests this fall.
• The Sunbirds have started league play with consecutive wins in all three seasons with Rob Podeyn at the helm of the program.
