HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Fresno Pacific got on the board eight minutes into the second half, but Concordia never took the foot off the gas, continuing to fire shots until the final horn.
• The Eagles added the final score of the afternoon with just four minutes to play.
SCORING:
• (33:53) Reena Kang was on the receiving end of a free kick and responded with a header over FPU keeper
Summer Hammond.
• (38:36) After a cross from Megan Hussey, Kang struck again with a shot to the lower left corner.
• (53:30)
Jessica Dondlinger found
Mariah Montoya, who gave the Sunbirds their lone score of the game with a shot to the bottom right of the net.
• (86:01) McKenna Carrillo's free kick from the top of the box sailed to the upper right corner to push the Eagle lead to 3-1.
STATS OF THE GAME:
• FPU was outshot 17-5 by their hosts, including a mark of 8-3 in shots on goal. Â
• Hammond picked up five saves in the net, while Eagle counterpart Kaelyn Whitcomb needed just two for the victory.
• Set pieces were a big part of the Concordia offense on Saturday, as they took six of the game's seven corner kicks.
Â
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Thursday's loss was FPU's first against Concordia since
Rob Podeyn took over the program.
• Kang's multi-score effort is the first by an Eagle player this season, and she now leads the team in goals.

• Montoya becomes the fourth Sunbird this season to score more than one goal, joining
Rachel Anderson,
Anissia Gonzalez and
Mackenzie Reynolds.
