QUOTABLE:
• "UC Merced is an incredibly hard working, talented and well-coached team. We were hoping to turn a corner tonight, and we did not. This game has to be a lesson to our young players that we must come prepared every night. There must be an absolute commitment to valuing the basketball and playing our pace for 40 minutes. We are happy to leave their place with a win but we will have to be much better on Tuesday." – head coach Tim Beauregard

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Cassie Pisik, Landynn Munster and Megan Lee each went for 14 points, while Jessica Malazarte finished with 12 of her own.
• UC Merced's Mia Belvin led all scorers with 18 points as one of four Bobcats in double-figures.
• Pisik also hauled in a game-high 11 rebounds to record FPU's first double-double of the season.
• Julia LoCastro made her presence felt in the paint, racking up a career-high six blocks against the Bobcats.
• FPU shot 44% from the floor for the game, while their hosts shot connected on just 30% of their shot attempts.
• The Sunbirds hit just 2-of-7 from three-point range in the first half but made 6-of-10 after the intermission.

BEYOND THE BOX:
• FPU's 26 turnovers were the most the Sunbirds have committed in a game this season.
• Munster has provided a spark off the bench so far this year, scoring in double-figures in all but one game.
