Tiff Wong put down a career best 17 kills and added 15 digs as Fresno Pacific defeated Dominican 3-2 on Friday night in PacWest play. Set scores were 25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 16-25 and 15-11 in favor of the Sunbirds at the Conlan Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds led 2-1 after winning the first and third sets. FPU hit .263 and .233 in the frames, respectively.
• Dominican pushed the match to five sets, however, after holding the 'Birds to negative .033 hitting in the fourth set.
• FPU came out determined in the decisive fifth set and used a 5-0 run, which was highlighted by two kills from Wong, to take control of the frame. The Sunbirds led 14-9 and after DUC started to mount a comeback, FPU closed out the win on a kill from
Kylei Dewar.
STATS OF THE GAME:
• Wong's 17 kills were a game high and led the FPU offense, as she finished with a .382 attack percentage.
•
Malerie Crenshaw totaled 11 kills for the Sunbirds, while
Christina Tran nearly totaled a triple-double of 25 assists, 12 digs and nine kills.
Hannah Miller added a team-best 22 digs.
• DUC received 11 kills from Cat Thomason and 27 digs from Hana Wyles. The Penguins out-blocked the Sunbirds 13-4 on the night.
BEYOND THE BOX:
• Wong's 17 kills were a career best and the first double-digit effort of her career. It was also her first-ever double-double.
• Tran totaled her 11th double-double of the season in the win.
