FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific volleyball team used a strong offensive attack to down Notre Dame de Namur 3-1 on Thursday night in PacWest action.
Karah Mitchell led the way with 17 kills on .441 hitting for FPU.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds came out firing in the opening set and rode a .394 team attack to win 25-13.
Carley Bock led the attack with five kills in the set.
• The second set was tightly contested before FPU used a 12-4 run to close out the frame and jump ahead 2-0.
• After NDNU stole set three, the Sunbirds set the tone early in the fourth and used a .500 hitting attack in the frame to win 25-19 and earn the match victory.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Mitchell recorded a double-double of 17 kills and 15 digs for the Sunbirds.
• Bock and
Madison Pierce added 12 kills apiece for FPU, while
Gabriela Macedo totaled 11 kills and 13 digs.

Greta Dobenecker dished out 27 assists and totaled 13 digs,
Christina Tran added 25 assists and nine digs and
Tiff Wong scooped up a game-high 23 digs for the 'Birds.
• The Sunbirds hit .312 on the night and held the Argonauts to .188 as a team.
• NDNU's Bianca Alvarez, the nation's fifth leading attacker, was held to 17 kills. Maggie Billingsley dished out a game-high 38 assists.

BEYOND THE BOX:
• The Sunbirds' .312 hitting attack as a team was the second highest total of the season.
• Mitchell and Dobenecker both amassed double-doubles for the third consecutive game. Dobenecker leads the team with 11, while Mitchell has eight on the year.
• The 66 team kills for FPU was a season-best for a four-set match.
