Sunbirds Extend Win Streak to Four with 3-0 Win Over ARTU

FRESNO, Calif.  – The Fresno Pacific women's soccer team kept rolling on Thursday night, picking up its' fourth consecutive victory with a 3-0 shutout victory over Academy of Art.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Sunbirds started the scoring just four minutes into the night before adding a second score three minutes before the first half ended.
• A final score came a minute into the second half, but Fresno Pacific's offense proved relentless, firing shot after shot in the second half.     

SCORING:
• (4:05) Alyssa Kincade found Whitney Snow, who found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the season.
• (41:57) Alexis Macias fired toward the far post after quick assists from Kincade and Mia Castillo, putting the Sunbirds up 2-0 heading to the intermission.
• (46:09) Mariah Montoya connected with Anissia Gonzalez, and Gonzalez' shot sailed just below the crossbar to give FPU a comfortable 3-0 advantage.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• FPU outshot their hosts 31-9, including a mark of 15-4 on frame.
• The Sunbirds earned seven of the nine corner kicks for the match.
• Urban Knight goalkeeper Morgan Wirz picked up a dozen saves, while FPU's Summer Hammond needed just four to preserve the win.

BEYOND THE BOX:
• Hammond has now delivered a clean sheet in each of her last three matches and eight total for her career.
• The four-game win streak for the Sunbirds is the first since Rob Podeyn took over the program prior to the 2015 season.
• Thursday's 31 shots set a new season-best for FPU, topping their previous mark of 28 against Dominican.  
 
UP NEXT:
• Fresno Pacific returns to action on Saturday, when they host Azusa Pacific at Ramirez Field at 5:00 p.m. The Sunbirds will celebrate their six seniors prior to the game.
